Health thoughts.

Like most folks of the USA, I was raised with the “finish what’s on your plate” mentality. Lamenting to a friend about how my guilt of starvation leads to my gluttony, this friend gave me this perspective: when you finish food that you don’t need, you’re basically treating yourself like a garbage bin because that food belongs in the trash, and not just stored away by you.

I’ll take it a step further. I can’t solve the world’s problems by eating more. I can, however, take significantly less and eat what I need. Maybe if we all did that, the world’s problems would get solved.

And another thing: vanity is fleeting. Don’t exercise to look good; you’ll fail, or have an inflated sense of pride. Exercise and eat right to take care of what has been entrusted to you: your body, your temple. Honor it and do right by it.

The end.
